111 option ‘Mental health’ is a vital service that provides urgent care advice and support to people who are in mental health crisis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We assess patients’ needs, manage the crisis and direct them to the most appropriate care, whether that is self-care, a GP appointment, or A&E.
