The annual event, held on Thursday 28 November, honours outstanding achievements in nurse recruitment, retention, wellbeing, and inclusion.
This year, EPUT’s efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, and staff development were recognised in three categories.
Moriam Adekunle, Director of Safety and Patient Safety Specialist, won Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year for her exceptional work in promoting diversity and inclusion across the Trust.
Moriam (pictured below with Prince Adoe at a reception hosted by Buckingham Palace for nurses and midwives in 2023) said: “I am deeply proud to accept this award on behalf of everyone who works tirelessly to make EPUT a truly inclusive place.
“Diversity is our strength, and together we are creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to the best possible care for our communities.”
EPUT was also recognised as Best Employer for Diversity And Inclusion for its innovative RISE (Resilience, Intelligence, Strength, and Excellence) talent programme, which provides tailored support and development for black, Asian and ethnic minority colleagues, helping to create an inclusive and empowering workplace.
And EPUT Nurse Prince Adoe was recognised as a finalist in the Overseas Nurse of the Year category for his excellent care and his contribution to building strong, supportive teams at the Trust.
Prince said: “Being recognised as a finalist is a moment of pride for me and my team.
“This recognition reflects the welcoming and supportive culture at EPUT, which allows staff like me to thrive.
“I am grateful to be part of such a dedicated and caring team.”
Paul Scott, Chief Executive of EPUT, said: “These awards are a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our staff.
“At EPUT, we work hard to ensure everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to thrive.

The event also featured the Nursing Times Workforce Summit, a platform for healthcare leaders to discuss key challenges and share practical solutions to improve the workforce.
