Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is responsible for the running of the Trust and for developing plans for the future. The Board is accountable for meeting national standards, performance targets and financial requirements, and reports to the membership through the Council of Governors on the running and performance of the Trust.
The Board consists of Executive and Non-Executive Directors.
The Board believes that its membership is balanced, complete and appropriate and that no individual group or individuals dominate the Board meetings. The Board has also agreed a clear division of responsibilities between the Chair and Chief Executive which ensures a balance of power and authority.
The Board has a wide range of skills and the majority of members have a medical, nursing or other health professional background. Non-Executive Directors have wide-ranging expertise and experience with backgrounds in finance, audit, business and organisational development, primary care, commercial and marketing. The Board demonstrates a clear balance in its membership through extensive debate and development
