I was elected as an EPUT Public Governor in July 2019.
I believe it is crucial that the voices of people who use – or support people who use – EPUT services in North East Essex and Suffolk are listened and responded to with compassion and understanding.
It is also vital that there is a tier of people who develop an understanding of EPUT so they can raise questions on behalf of members and the wider public.
EPUT provides Governors with a good range of training opportunities and they are invited to attend a wide range of meetings. It is important that people know which EPUT services are available to them locally and that they hear about new developments; Governors can provide and find out such information.
When members are invited to preparation for Governor meetings, I urge you to attend and find out whether you might like to join the Council.
