After stepping down as a Public Governor of ‘North Essex Partnership’ (NEP) in March 2016, having completed the maximum 9-year period allowed, I am now pleased to be elected as a Governor for the ‘Essex Partnership University Trust’ (EPUT).
I was proud to be first elected as a Governor, as both a recovered Service User and a Carer.
Having been a Governor for 9 years, I know well the ‘reins’ and responsibilities of being a Governor, and have a passion for Mental Health, which is well known among professionals.
Having been involved in the service for 30 plus years, I know well the ‘ropes’ and ‘ins and outs’ of making an effective contribution, and being of service to you, the Members and Electorate.
I am effective and experienced at challenging Directors and Managers across the Board Table, to deliver a more effective and patient-led Health Service.
I also recognize the importance of good and effective Community Health Services in West Essex and Hertfordshire.
One of my achievements as a Governor during the first period, was along with my West Essex Governor Colleagues, we strongly influenced the decision of the Board of Directors of the Trust, to go forward and both fund and implement the re-development of the Derwent Centre, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, which is now in progress and well advanced.
I am confident I can be effective as a Governor in the Trust, improving things for everybody, most importantly Service Users and their Carers
