Consider a career in pharmacy this International Day of Women and Girls in Science

This International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is encouraging people to consider a career in pharmacy.

EPUT is currently recruiting to its pharmacy team which plays a vital role in supporting the care and treatment of patients across mental health, community and learning disability services.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science falls on Saturday, 11 February and is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the role women play in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

EPUT’s pharmacy team helps patients and the clinical colleagues providing their care get the best possible results from the medicines they take.

Hilary Scott has been the Director of Pharmacy at EPUT for 15 years and is proud to work alongside a number of women in science in her team. 

She said:  “My team are on our inpatient wards every day, ensuring patients receive the correct doses of medication and advising on the best choices of medication to suit individual patient needs and pre-existing health conditions.

“Pharmacy is so much more than putting pills in pots and sticking labels on packets!”

EPUT’s pharmacy team supports inpatient and community teams caring for patients across Essex.

The team is currently recruiting newly qualified pharmacists who want to start building their career and experienced pharmacists wishing to take the next step and develop their skills and knowledge.
