Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Service

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Service provides multi-disciplinary assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people experiencing medically unexplained fatigue as their main symptom living in Bedfordshire (treatment for patients living in Luton can be provided with additional funding).

Treatment options

Treatment is provided for clients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME).

The service offers NICE recommended Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Graded Exercise Therapy (GET) delivered by our CBT Therapist, Assistant Psychologist and Physiotherapists.

In addition, our Occupational Therapist provides Graded Activity Management to help improve daily functioning and support you to work towards your goals.  If appropriate, a home assessment of your current functioning will be carried out.

We also offer support groups for up to six months after patients have completed treatment. This provides an opportunity for attendees to: discuss their progress, problem-solve together, create new goals, as well as to discover groups and resources in the local area.

If you do have any needs that fall outside of our treatment capabilities, we coordinate referral to the appropriate services in order to offer you a streamlined service.
