Limb Fitting Service

The EPUT team provides psychological support to patients at the Limb Fitting Centre.   The EPUT Clinical Health Psychology Service plays an active role within the service assessing patients’ emotional needs pre and post amputation.  The Limb Fitting Centre provides specialist knowledge and prosthetic services to lower limb amputee patients in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Psychological support is provided to patients to help set rehabilitation expectations and achieve identified goals. Psychological therapy is offered to those who experience difficulties with adjustment to limb loss, physical pain, and or anxiety/depression symptoms relating to the changes encountered post amputation. In addition, support is provided to family and carers while signposting to local support specialist services.
