Older People Continuing Healthcare Inpatient Service
Continuing care inpatient services are provided for people over the age of 65 with a functional or organic mental illness. The Trust has assessment inpatient services for elderly people.
Treatments and therapies include:
- Art and crafts
- Music therapy
- Hand massage
- Ball games
- Church services
Referrals are also accepted for people under the age of 65 with early onset dementia following a full assessment of an individuals needs by a multi-disciplinary team.
Visiting hours for our units are arranged around our patient’s needs, including protected meal times and to avoid clinical rounds where possible.
If you can, it would help to time your visits to fit in with the times detailed below. However we do try to be flexible and where possible we will welcome visits outside of these times if needed, for example if family members have travelled some distance to visit or for special occasions. In these circumstances, it would be helpful if you can contact the ward before your visit, so they know you are coming, allowing them to communicate this to staff and ensure you are admitted without delay.
