Chaplaincy, Spirituality and Faith

Our chaplaincy team provide religious, spiritual and pastoral care to staff, patients and families. Our team provide non-judgemental, sensitive and confidential support.

Spirituality can become more important in times of distress, emotional stress, physical and mental illness, loss and bereavement and the approach of death. Our chaplains are specialists in providing spiritual care to those in hospital, and can offer a safe space to explore meaning and purpose, a sense of belonging and a connection with faith.

We have a multi-faith team of professional chaplains as well as a network of trained chaplaincy volunteers. Each person we meet has different spiritual needs, and our chaplain’s work with all religious and spiritual beliefs. We aim to find community links with all religious and faith beliefs when required and arrange for your own religious or spiritual leader to visit you in hospital.

During your stay in hospital, we can provide you with religious literature and prayer mats.

If you would like to speak to someone from the chaplaincy team or arrange a visit, please email epunft.chaplaincy@nhs.net. Alternatively, if you are a patient in hospital, you can ask a member of nursing staff to contact us for you. We regularly visit hospital wards across the trust so please come and say hello to us!
