Countdown to Christmas Day 6 - Growing our team

We are a growing organisation and have launched several new services and welcomed more than 1,700 new staff this year.

We are committed to ensuring our patients receive high quality, therapeutic care and making sure we have the right staff in place to offer the best possible care.

We welcomed 1,735 new colleagues between 1 April and 13 December this year. We’ve also supported flexible workers to move into permanent positions.

We are committed to ensuring our staff can be the best they can be. We support them to grow their skills and experience and offer a diverse and inclusive workplace.

There are a variety of training and development opportunities, including apprenticeships.

So far this year, 57 staff have completed apprenticeships in the following areas of expertise: Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker, Level 3 Pharmacy Technician, Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker, Level 5 Healthcare Assistant Practitioner, Level 6 Registered Nurse, Level 7 Advanced Practice (Clinical), Level 7 Clinical Associate in Psychology, and Level 7 Senior Leader Masters.

One of the ways we support our staff grow their career is through the Resilience, Intelligence, Strength and Excellence (RISE) programme.

This year, 47 colleagues were part of the second cohort to complete the course, which is a customised talent development programme for colleagues from black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds.

The programme is part of our commitment to creating a fair and inclusive workplace for all and we also have a range of staff networks to support staff and ensure everyone has a voice.

We are also working to nurture new talent and increase local recruitment. We have hosted a number of local recruitment events over the year and there will be more in 2024.

We employ more than 6,000 permanent staff working across more than 200 sites, who provide community health, mental health and learning disability services to people living across Essex, Bedfordshire and Suffolk.

We are actively recruiting for roles across our services, both in clinical and non-clinical roles.

If you are passionate about providing the best possible care across our community health, mental health and learning disability services in Essex, Bedfordshire and Suffolk, find out more about opportunities to join us on our Careers page.
