Gifts donated to young families in Southend

A nursing team and a church donated Christmas presents to young families being supported by a specialist service in Southend.

The Family Nurse Partnership Southend service supports teenage parents through pregnancy and until their child is aged up to two years old.

For Christmas, the nursing team provided books for the babies and toddlers, and Springfield Park Baptist Church in Chelmsford kindly donated presents for the parents, as well as their children.

The church had heard about the service's work from team manager Melanie Breward, who attends the church.

Thank you to Springfield Park Baptist Church for their thoughtful gifts. It was a lovely gesture and meant a lot to the young families we support.

The Family Nurse Partnership Southend service offers a home visiting programme to provide young parents with information and support about pregnancy, giving birth and looking after babies and toddlers.

The team also supports parents with their own health and wellbeing, and will support them with anything they would like to talk about to help them plan their future, such as childcare, education, training, housing and finances.
