Successful NHS careers showcase in Harlow

We were pleased to see many people attend an NHS career showcase and recruitment event in Harlow.

The event was organised by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and Harlow College, and was held at the Harlow College campus in Velizy Avenue on Thursday 18 January.

Staff from both NHS Trusts were available throughout the day to talk about what their jobs involve and discuss roles such as healthcare support workers, IT and business intelligence and administration services.

Visitors who were interested in directly caring for patients were able to talk to colleagues from EPUT’s mental health services, community health services, pharmacy department, and allied health professions.

We also had colleagues in non-clinical roles, such as IT and administration, who play an important part in supporting teams across the Trust.

Visitors were given an opportunity to try out some practical tasks that our staff undertake on a daily basis, so they could see which roles they might like to do.

There were workshops on how to make job applications stand out and how to prepare for interviews, and staff from Harlow College and JobCentre Plus were also on hand to give advice.

Matt Cope, one of our HR Business Partners, said: “The event ran fantastically. It was great working with our partners at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Harlow College.

“I don’t think I have seen so many people attend a career event like this before.

“We are hoping to collaborate again in the future.”

EPUT is a growing organisation and welcomed more than 1,700 new staff last year.

We are committed to giving people in Essex opportunities to train and grow their careers in the NHS and Thursday’s event is one of several local recruitment events we have held.

You can find out more about current job opportunities on our Careers page and please look out for more information on recruitment events in the future.
