Support group for family and carers of people living with an eating disorder

A new support network for family and carers of people living with an eating disorder is holding its first meeting tomorrow, Thursday 25 January.

The group brings together people with shared experience in a supportive space. The aim is to support members through conversation, sharing experiences and resources, and by listening to each other.

The meeting is open to anyone who is caring for a loved one who may have a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder.

Email epunft.edsun@nhs.net to register your interest and receive a link to the online meeting. The meeting will take place on Thursday from 4pm to 5pm on Microsoft Teams.

The group is facilitated by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s Adult Eating Disorders new Service User Network (SUN).

The SUN empowers people who are living with an eating disorder to take control of their recovery, with support from each other. The network also has a vital role in supporting us to shape our services and the care we deliver.

Groups within the SUN are not clinical or therapy groups. They focus on peer support, collaboration with service users, their families and carers, and promoting how to stay well.

Anyone who is living with an eating disorder who would like to find out more in the SUN can email epunft.edsun@nhs.net
