Dr Edwin Ugoh
Consultant in General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry

Dr Ugoh provides clinical leadership for our substance misuse teams in South and West Essex. He is Addiction Lead for EPUT.

These two teams work with people who have difficulties with substance misuse, providing assessments, diagnoses, specialist prescribing and management. Dr Ugoh helps teams to provide holistic services, combining pharmacological and psychosocial approaches to recovery to minimise harm and/or work towards abstinence.

Dr Ugoh is a specialist in dual diagnoses, and has extensive experience supporting service users with several severe and long-term mental illnesses through their assessment and signposting them to relevant services.

Dr Ugoh was involved in the launch of Quality Improvement (QI) activities in addiction services. He is also involved in training and upskilling staff from non-NHS addiction service providers in an integrated substance misuse partnership.
