Dr El-Maraghy is a general adult psychiatrist with more than 25 years of experience working with patients, assessing, and helping manage a wide range of mental health conditions, especially those linked to physical health issues and medically unexplained conditions.

She has particular interest and expertise in dealing with mental health conditions affecting people in the perinatal period.

Dr El-Maraghy is an elected member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Perinatal Mental Health and an Honorary Visiting Senior Clinical Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. She is involved in teaching and training junior doctors, Physician Associates and non-medical prescribers. She is also a Global Mental Health Volunteer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
