Cort Williamson
Cort Williamson is a Public Governor for North East Essex and Suffolk.
Following a career in business and marketing I qualified in medicine in 1986. I then undertook GP and Public Health training before moving to Suffolk in 1996.
For the past 19 years I have worked with the Outreach Team in Ipswich supporting marginalised and vulnerable people. Clients include the homeless, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, the latter being a special interest.
I retired at 65, but returned due to Covid with the same multi-disciplinary team, providing public health advice, vaccinating and medical assessment as needed.
I have always enjoyed the work, and with a great team. Over the years I have also been involved in Public Health training, and medical student teaching with the UEA in primary care. In the past I have been a school governor (special needs) in Derbyshire.
I'm practical and a reasonable communicator in most senses.
