Megan Leach
Megan Leach is a Public Governor for Essex Mid and South.
I have been involved with NHS and NELFT services through being a carer for my grandmother who was receiving treatment for a number of years since her diagnosis with COPD.
Throughout my experience with using NHS and NELFT services as a carer during the care of my grandmother. I have gained a mutual respect and admiration for NHS staff who have been there for me at my most vulnerable time emotionally and physically which has inspired me to make a difference in my local community.
I have been involved in multiple NHS related projects and groups engaging with their local communities, being ambassadors for the service sourcing potential patient interviews and linking into local consultations developing third sector links with local charities and organisations.
I have developed a keen interest in the improvement of patient experience, my voluntary experiences allows me to contribute to improving patient experience.
I have insight into the services that EPUT provide and how patient’s voices can be used to adapt treatment. Most importantly, co-production, collaboration, and an elevation of minority voices drives me to work for the improvement of all.
My skills include communication skills, project management skills, team-working abilities, inquisitiveness to question and analyse, and the strong desire to learn and good inter-personal skills, problem solving and leadership skills
