In these roles, Spencer has been instrumental in integrating mental health into holistic care for older adults, emphasising the interconnectedness of physical, mental, cognitive, social, and emotional health.

Spencer’s roles bring him in contact with clinical team members across the Trust both mental and physical Health; and community and inpatient services, at all levels.

Spencer’s areas of interest include clinical competence, the culture of care (including challenging ageism), proactive personalised holistic care, integration of care across pathways and developing a skilled workforce.

Spencer believes that good patient care can only be achieved when workforce is well supported, respected and recognised as individuals.
