Boost your immunity before the New Year – book an appointment for a COVID-19 jab
More pre-bookable COVID-19 vaccination appointments, and some walk-in slots, are being made available in Essex over the next week (27 December to 31 December 2021).
If you are yet to have a jab, need to have your next one, or are due for your booster, now is the time to act. There are plenty of pre-bookable appointments available at Chelmsford City Racecourse and County Hall, Chelmsford, over the coming days, as well as some capacity for vaccinations on a walk-in basis.
Over the next week, we are offering:
- First doses if you or your child are 12 years old or over
- Second doses if you are 12 years old or over
- Booster doses for anyone who is 18 years old or over (boosters are given 12 weeks after your second dose)
If you’re 18 years old or over and have only had your first dose, you can have your second dose eight weeks after your first vaccination. If you’re aged 12 to 17, you are eligible for your second dose 12 weeks after your first vaccine dose.
Some people are eligible for a third primary dose of vaccine – please bring along your GP or consultant letter if this applies to you.

There will also be a number of walk-in clinics taking place throughout the week; these will be available on a first come, first served basis. To avoid waiting, you are advised to pre-book if possible.
More information about eligibility and other places you can have your jab can be found on the COVID-19 vaccine information for Essex website.
