Care Home celebrates milestone anniversary
A care home run by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) celebrated its 20th anniversary with a family fun day.
Staff, residents and their families celebrated the milestone anniversary at Rawreth Court with a visit from Mark Francois MP, live music, refreshments and traditional games on Saturday 20 July.
Rawreth Court in Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh, is a specialist unit that cares for frail and elderly patients, many of whom have varying stages of dementia.
Kim Maxwell, Occupational Therapist assistant, who helped organise the day, said; “It was lovely to see so many people come to the fete and enjoy celebrating with us. The support we received in people’s donations, time and kindness helped make the day even more special.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to our manager, Alina, and all the staff and families. We look forward to using money raised on the day to benefit our residents.”
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, joined the celebrations – he first visited Rawreth Court shortly after it opened two decades ago.
During his visit Mark was introduced to long-term member of staff, Darleen Brace, who was celebrating her upcoming retirement having worked at Rawreth Court for 17 years.
Mark said: “As the local MP, it was lovely to meet with Darleen and her dedicated colleagues at Rawreth Court and to thank them for their service, in looking after some of the most senior citizens in our community.
“Thanks to Darleen and the rest of the team, the standard of care at Rawreth Court is very high, so I wish them another successful twenty years and beyond.”
