EPUT appoints new non-executive director
Dr Mateen Jiwani, a GP with a passion for technology and innovation, has been appointed as non-executive director at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT)
Mateen is a practising GP in London and Essex and previously worked as Associate Medical Director at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and Medical Director at NHS Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group.
Professor Sheila Salmon, EPUT Chair, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have appointed Mateen to join our board as a non-executive director.
“He has a wealth of experience and we look forward to benefitting from his clinical knowledge and expertise on improving healthcare through innovation and technology.”
Mateen said: “I’m very pleased to be joining the EPUT board, it is a privilege to be joining the trust at this time with its focus on providing the best and safest care possible for patients and using innovative technology to enhance care.”
Mateen is a regular broadcaster on new and innovative healthcare approaches. He sits on a number of boards including the Royal College of General Practitioners and is also an executive medical advisor to the NHS.
Mateen has been appointed as non-executive director at EPUT for three years from 18 January 2021.
