EPUT staff are volunteering at Southend Winter Pride this weekend
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust staff are volunteering at Southend Winter Pride this weekend as part of LGBT+ History Month.
LGBT+ History Month takes place every February in the UK and aims to dispel prejudice and make LGBT+ people visible in society.
It's a time when we can take a moment to remember the history of people from the LGBT+ community and important figures who have impacted the world.
Some of our staff will be volunteering on a stall at Southend Winter Pride to explain to visitors how we provide person-centred care to members of the LGBT+ community accessing our services.
They will also share some of the job opportunities we have at the Trust.
Taking part in Southend Winter Pride is just one of the ways we proactively support members of the LGBT+ community. Our LGBTQ+ Network provides a voice representing colleagues who are lesbian, gay, bi, trans or other sexual orientation or gender identity, and helps informs the decisions we make and shape improvements.
Southend Winter Pride takes place on Saturday, 25 February, from 12 pm to 5 pm at St Mark’s Church Hall in Princes Street, Southend.
There will be community stalls, independent traders, entertainment, a kid’s corner, drag story time and refreshments.
