Essex care home celebrates improved CQC rating
A care home in Essex is celebrating the news that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has upgraded its overall rating from requires improvement to good, following an inspection in January. It is now rated good in all areas.
Clifton Lodge in Westcliff-on-Sea is managed by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT). It is a residential care home which supports up to 35 older people including those living with dementia. It provides flexible long and short-term care packages tailored to the specific needs of every resident, delivered in a homely environment.
The inspection found that the home delivers person-centred, high-quality care and that staff actively engaged with people and their families to create detailed care plans, incorporating their preferences and support needs.
It was also found that the service tailored activities to meet people’s needs and interests. Staff arranged structured activities for people to join in, to keep them stimulated and engaged throughout the day. They also made sure people only needed to tell their story once by sharing their assessment of needs when people moved between different services.
Pippa Crocket, Nursing Home Manager at Clifton Lodge said: “We are absolutely delighted with the improved rating from the CQC. This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our incredible team, who go above and beyond every day to ensure that the care we provide is of the highest standard.
“I am so proud of how our staff have embraced continuous learning and worked together to create a caring and supportive environment for our residents. We are committed to maintaining this positive momentum, and will continue to focus on delivering person-centred care that enhances the lives of those who call Clifton Lodge home.”
