Essex NHS Trust announces new Chair

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Chair.

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies will take up her role on 1 April 2025 as the extended term of the current Chair, Professor Sheila Salmon, comes to an end after seven years.

Paul Scott, Chief Executive at EPUT, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Hattie and look forward to continuing the work of transforming mental and community health services for the people of Essex and beyond.

“Hattie brings a wealth of experience having chaired other NHS Trusts as well as wide ranging experience in the homeless and housing sector.

“We would also like to thank Sheila for her leadership over the last seven years.

“She’s been a passionate advocate for local people, recognising the need to drive through improvements in patient care across the many services that EPUT provides.”

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies said: “I’m excited to be joining EPUT and look forward to continuing the work that Sheila Salmon and the Board have been driving forward.

“My focus will be on the patients, families, carers and people across Essex and beyond who use the Trust’s services and I look forward to meeting many of them over the coming weeks, months and years.”

Prof Sheila Salmon said: “It has been a privilege to Chair EPUT and I’d like to thank Paul, the wider Board and our Council of Governors for their continued focus on safety and quality, placing the service user, carer and family voice at the heart of our services, both in design and delivery.

“I sincerely congratulate Hattie on her appointment and wish her well for the coming months and years where I am sure EPUT will continue to develop and further improve under her leadership.”
