Families of residents at our care home enjoy monthly catch ups over a cuppa

Families of people staying at one of our residential care homes have been invited to get to know each other over a cuppa at a monthly carers meeting.

The families of the residents are able to meet once a month at Clifton Lodge in Westcliff, and discuss their thoughts and ideas about the care homes while having a natter over tea and coffee and biscuits.

It is an opportunity for them to ask the activities coordinator questions about their loved ones’ health and wellbeing and get involved in supporting the care home and its residents, for example by donating items such as chocolates, toiletries and clothes.

Activities Co-ordinator Sandie Woolford said: “These monthly sessions are a great opportunity for families to come together and meet each other and talk about ways they can help the care home.

“They are able to express any concerns they have, talk about any changes in their loved ones’ health and discuss the general day to day running of the home and what is happening.

“The feedback so far has been good and they all seem to look forward to attending the meetings.”
