This is the fifth annual ‘Know Your Blood Pressure’ event to be held at the Hospital. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure, which increases your risk of a heart attack or stroke and can be a contributing factor to vascular dementia. With 1 in 3 adults suffering from high blood pressure, knowing your numbers could save your life.

Melanie Grout, Staff Nurse at Saffron Walden Community Hospital commented: “Around 30% of people in England have high blood pressure but many don't know it. If left untreated, high blood pressure increases your risk of a heart attack or stroke. If we can prevent even one person having a stroke the day will have been worthwhile”
