Free Drama Course for Patients and Carers

South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s Open Arts team are running a free course in Brentwood for people with experience of mental health difficulties and carers, to learn new skills, meet people and improve self-confidence and self-esteem through drama taster sessions.

The drama course which starts on Monday 4 March, 13:15 – 16:15 and runs for 14 sessions at the Knightsway Centre in Brentwood will introduce participants to drama as a means of expression. There will be a focus on working with the body and voice to communicate ideas and emotions as well as events through games and activities. The sessions are designed to get everyone comfortable with improvising and working together.

No experience is necessary; all the sessions aim to be a fun experience whilst developing self-expression and perhaps learning new skills and meeting new people.

You can join up to 4 weeks in to the course, as each week introduces a new technique.
