Nebulisers donated in memory of Sheila Gower

On what would have been her 60th birthday, Sheila Gower’s family presented South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s (SEPT) Community Matrons with nebulisers in her memory.

Sheila suffered with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), one of the most common respiratory diseases in the UK, the main cause of which is smoking and was treated by SEPTs Community matrons for long term conditions until her death, often having the need for a nebuliser.

Sheila started Breathe Easy Southend, a support group for people affected by lung conditions including their friends, family and carers over 7 years ago and was an avid fundraiser for them.

The donated nebulisers will help other COPD sufferers manage their condition.
