New carer network

Are you, or have you ever been, a carer for someone who has received care from Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT)?

We are setting up a new carer network and want to hear from people who would be interested in attending and what information and support they would like to see.

This will help us make sure the group meets their needs.

Hayleigh Gough, a People Participation lead in our Patient Experience Team, said: “A carer can be anyone who provides unpaid care to someone who needs it and cannot get by without their support.

“You could be supporting a friend, family member or partner who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.

“We recognise it can be difficult for carers to see their caring role as separate from the relationship they have with that person, but you are entitled to support, even if you don’t see yourself as being a carer.

“Our carer network is for anyone who cares for someone who is receiving care from our services, or has in the past.

“We want to make sure the group gives you the information and help you need, so please get in touch and let us know what you’d like to see.”

EPUT staff will also attend the carer network so that staff and carers can learn more about each other’s perspectives and share ideas and information.

There is a simple anonymous form to complete to share your ideas.
