New Trust leadership in September

“There are changes of leadership within every organisation. At Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), we have benefited hugely from the experience and dedication of Sally Morris who is retiring after three years of working for EPUT having put the organisation on a well-established and sound footing with a CQC rating of Good.

“For the last year, we have been planning for Sally’s departure. She will hand over the reins on 30 September to Paul Scott, chief finance officer at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, marking a new and exciting phase in EPUT’s journey of improvement and mission to improve the health and wellbeing of people across Essex, Suffolk and Bedfordshire.  Paul will be joining the trust on 24 August as CEO designate to visit the trust's sites and meet with staff, partners and stakeholders.

“The trust has also been preparing for many months for the retirement of our chief finance officer Mark Madden. His successor Trevor Smith has worked as a finance director in health and social care for more than 20 years. He joins us on 18 September from Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow where he has been instrumental in quality and financial improvements.

“In the last few weeks, our chief operating officer and deputy chief executive Andy Brogan has chosen to return to his nursing roots as executive chief nurse at St Andrew’s Healthcare, a charity providing specialist mental healthcare in Northampton. He will be leaving in the autumn after 11 years.

“Over the coming months with the new and existing members of the executive team, who together have considerable experience in health and care, we will be looking to build on the trust’s achievements over the last three years as well as make further improvements for our communities across Essex and beyond – as we continue to work towards our goal of being an outstanding organisation by 2022."
