NHS Trust invites local people to nominate their healthcare heroes
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is calling on members of the local community to help shine the spotlight on NHS staff who have gone above and beyond to provide outstanding care.
Local people – including patients, service users, friends and family and staff – are encouraged to nominate their healthcare heroes for the Trust’s Staff Recognition Award scheme.
The Trust is seeking nominations for colleagues like George, a Healthcare Assistant, who volunteered on his day off to drive community nurses to patients living in rural areas using his 4×4 car when severe weather conditions disrupted local transport.
Group nominations are also welcomed: our all-faith chaplaincy team recently won a ‘Team Recognition Award’ for demonstrating the power of care, acceptance and human connection through incredibly challenging times for patients and colleagues.
Paul Scott, Chief Executive at EPUT, said: “Our Staff Recognition Award scheme is an opportunity to unite with our local community and say thank you to those who care. All of us at EPUT are looking forward to reading your nominations, and celebrating our colleagues’ achievements.
“Since the launch of the scheme in November 2020, we have received more than 380 nominations from patients, carers, colleagues and members of the public.
“Each and every nomination we receive is so well deserved. They are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, who have continued to go above and beyond despite the challenges of the past two years.”
Nominations are now open for our next cohort of winners. There are five categories to choose from:
- Hero Award – Beyond the Call of Duty
- Peer to Peer Recognition Award
- Team Recognition Award
- Leadership Award
- Research, Innovation and Improvement Award
Descriptions for each category can be found on the EPUT website.
Nominations can be made via the online form, or by video or postal submission – please visit the EPUT website for more information.
Please note that nominees must currently be employed by EPUT; they can work in any role, part-time or full time, within any team or service. Nominations for the ‘Peer to Peer Recognition’ and ‘Research, Innovation and Improvement’ award categories are open to EPUT staff only.
Winners will be chosen by a judging panel and will receive vouchers and a certificate. Nominations are open all year round, but for your nominee to be included in our next round of judging, please submit your nomination by Wednesday 26 January 2022. Any nominations received after this deadline will be kept and considered at a later date.
Please visit the EPUT website for more information and full terms and conditions.
