Open Arts Studio is a development of the well-established Open Arts project which supports creativity for people with mental health needs. The studio is funded by Essex County Council and SEPT, working in partnership with ACAVA and Interact.

Artspace provides projects for people experiencing mental health and substance misuse problems. The project provides a supportive, non-medical context for the exploration and production of art. Work at Artspace is not analysed and no previous art experience is required. Artspace currently works with West London Mental Health Trust, Look Ahead Care and Support and other likeminded organisations.

County Councillor John Jowers, Cabinet Member for Libraries, Communities & Planning said: “Community art in Hadleigh is thriving and it is positive to hear that so many artists are benefitting from the artistic facilities at Hadleigh Old Fire Station.”
