Patients at Meadowview get into the Christmas spirit during Fayre

The festive spirit has arrived at Meadowview ward at Thurrock
Community Hospital, with patients enjoying their Christmas party on Friday 13 December. Patients from nearby Gloucester ward also came along to join in the fun.

Meadowview ward, an older person’s inpatient service, is situated in Thurrock Community Hospital, and run by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).

Patients enjoyed entertainment from singer Geri, who sang a variety of songs including hits rom Elvis and some quirky Christmas songs.

The ward had lots of festive decorations, with a donated Christmas themed balloon arch and artificial tree by local resident Sandra, along with a festive buffet lunch. Patients also made paper baubles that were on display on the ward’s Tree of Hope.

A raffle also took place, with donations received from staff and proceeds going towards future activities and enrichment for patients.

Tracy Hart, Activities Coordinator for Meadowview ward, said: “A fabulous time was had by patients, families and staff alike as we joined together to celebrate Christmas.”
