Rugby Bikers Rock Night in Support of Bedfordshire’s Children
The RIB (Rugby Independent Bikers) held a fundraising BBQ and Live Music event on Saturday 23rd May in Rugby, to help raise funds for children who have long-term/life limiting illnesses being cared for by South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s (SEPT) Bedfordshire’s Children’s Community Nursing Teams.
The Rugby Independent Bikers have taken these children from Bedfordshire to their hearts and raised £1200 to fund a day out for the children and their families.
The event took place in the rear garden of ST Thomas Cross Public House in Rugby and included two local rock bands, DJ and BBQ. All gave their time free of charge and in between the music there was an auction of motorcycle clothing and accessories as well as a raffle to boost funds.
The Bikers also do an annual Easter egg bike ride to Bedfordshire, donating a large quantity of chocolate eggs to the children and nurses.
The organiser, Barry Mace, said: ‘I’m passionate about helping these children and their families and all the members of our Biking Group take great pleasure in seeing the smiles on the children’s faces.’
