School Immunisation Service Transfers to SEPT
We are pleased to announce that on Thursday 1 September 2015, the Essex School Age and Community Immunisation Service transferred to South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT).
The service which provides a comprehensive immunisation programme for all primary and secondary school children in Essex offers routine, targeted and catch up immunisation programmes to increase uptake throughout the region. In addition the service will work closely with 0 – 5 years health service providers to ensure that the under fives have a high immunisation uptake rate.
SEPT already deliver the service in south east and west Essex and have provided the childhood flu vaccination programme in primary schools since 2013.
Along with the service, staff from the current providers will transfer to SEPT on 1 September to become part of the team that delivers the service.
Sally Morris, Chief Executive of SEPT said: “We are delighted to take over the reins and provide a comprehensive immunisation service for children across Essex. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to the Trust and pooling our expertise to increase vaccination rates across the region.”
