SEPT Holds a Garden Party for Mental Health and Dementia Awareness Week
Members of the public are encouraged to come along and join in with a garden party for Mental Health and Dementia awareness week.
South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT) are joining forces with the Alzheimer’s Society, Grays, to raise awareness of both Dementia awareness and Mental Health awareness weeks running from 15 – 21 May 2016.
A garden party will be held in the Cherry Tree Garden at Thurrock Hospital to help promote awareness of dementia and mental health in older people.
The Alzheimer’s society's regular 'Singing for the Brain' and gardening group will both be attending the event. The ‘Signing for the Brain’ group will be encouraging people to get involved with a group singing session, whilst their gardening group will be providing demonstrations of how to create a hanging basket.
The event will be held on Friday 20 May between 13:00 – 16:00 at the Cherry Tree Garden, Thurrock Hospital, Long Lane, Grays, Essex, RM16 2PX.
Patients, staff, carers and members of the public are all encouraged to come along and get involved with what promises to be a friendly and relaxed afternoon in the garden.
The event is open to everyone, free to attend and refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
