SEPT Launches ‘Valuing Volunteers’ Video

South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT) launched a new video for people who use our services and the public explaining how they can give feedback and volunteer. The video is available on our website and will be shown at staff induction and upcoming public meetings.

Real life volunteers take to the screen to share their experiences of working at the Trust, including how it enriches their lives. The Trust already has over 260 valued volunteers who dedicate their support in many areas, including collecting patient surveys and providing clerical support and talking and listening to patients. The video is available to watch at; www.sept.nhs.uk/get-involved/volunteers

CEO Sally Morris said; “Volunteers make a huge impact to the day to day functioning of the Trust and are a priceless asset to SEPT. We hope our new video with real life volunteers will appeal to anyone who is looking to donate their valuable time.

“Our volunteers help out in gardens and shops, sit on committees and interview panels, they help with befriending, feeding and reading to our patients, in fact, there is very little that they do not do in their desire to help. The volunteers that work with us do much to enrich the lives of others bringing fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a caring spirit.

“We are always on the lookout for new volunteers and welcome anyone who wishes to join us to get in touch with the Volunteering Team”.

If this sounds like you, and you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer with SEPT we would love to hear from you. The Volunteering Team can be contacted on 01268 739600 or by email at businesssupport-volunteering@sept.nhs.uk
