Spreading festive joy to Brockfield House

Christmas food hampers filled with festive treats are being delivered to all inpatient wards run by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).

Service users who find themselves spending the festive season on a ward away from loved ones will receive the special deliveries filled with mince pies, chocolates, biscuits, sweets and nibbles.

Sally Morris, Chief Executive of the Trust, personally delivered a hamper and Christmas card to Brockfield House, a secure mental health unit in Wickford, on Friday, 20 December.

She said: “It is a Christmas tradition at EPUT that we put together hampers for all of our inpatient wards for our service users to enjoy together over the festive period. This year we are delivering 49 hampers.

“Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for our service users as they find themselves spending the holidays away from loved ones.

“Although only a small gesture, I hope the hampers go some way to providing comfort and making the Christmas period that little bit easier for our patients.”
