Therapy for You is here to help this Blue Monday
This Blue Monday, Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is reminding everyone about the support available from its Therapy for You service.
Therapy for You, the local provider of NHS Talking Therapies, provides free psychological therapy for people experiencing depression and anxiety across north east and south east Essex.
Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health disorders in the UK. NHS Talking Therapies, formerly Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, help patients find the right support, first time, and a new national campaign starting today aims to raise awareness of the help available.
EPUT provides Therapy for You (NHS Talking Therapies) for patients aged 18 and over across south east Essex (Southend, Castle Point and Rochford) and patients aged 16 and over across north east Essex (Colchester and Tendring).
The service, run in partnership with mental health charity Mind and online therapy provider ieso, offers confidential psychological support in person and online, by telephone or by video call, as well as group therapy sessions and online courses. It also offers a range of easy-to-use self-help tools and resources for people to use at their own speed and convenience.
Kerry Coker, Associate Clinical Director of Psychological Services at EPUT, said: “January can be a difficult time of year but it’s also the time to think about making change for the year ahead. If you’re struggling with your mental health, Therapy for You will support you to find the help you need in a way that works best for you, so if you’re struggling, please get in touch.”
Members of the public can self-refer to Therapy for You or speak to their GP for a referral. To book an assessment, visit therapyforyou.co.uk or call 01268 739128 if you live in Southend, Castle Point or Rochford or 01206 334001 if you live in Colchester or Tendring.
Anyone in crisis aged 18 and over who needs urgent mental health support can call EPUT’s mental health crisis phone line at any time by dialling 111 and selecting the option for mental health. Trained staff are available 24 hours a day to provide immediate support.
