Here for you – support service for health and care staff

Summary

From April 2024 there will be some changes to availability of  staff support through the Here for You service hosted by Essex Partnership University Trust. This service will still be available in Essex but due to some  funding changes Here for You (Essex) will only be able to offer a service to staff employed by organisations that have purchased the service. Currently these are:

  • Princess Alexandra Hospitals Trust
  • Essex Partnership University Trust
  • Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust

We are in discussion with other organisations too and hope that this list will expand over the coming months.

Service Information

In the meantime, for all other health and social care staff in Essex we are no longer able to accept new referrals for psychological support (for individuals and teams) from 1st of January 2024. This will enable us to honour and complete work already in progress in a clinically safe and effective way in the lead up to the 1 April 2024.

If you are a staff member who is in need of support but unable to access Here for You, Essex from 1st of January 2024, please consider the following alternatives:

  • Check your local Employee Assistance Programme and self-refer to access counselling (information will be on your trust intranet). Most EAP offer 24/7 phone line as well and internet resources
  • Visit your GP to ask for support
  • Visit citizens advice for single point of access for social needs
  • Self-refer to your local NHS talking therapies service (click this link to find your local talking therapy service) Find an NHS talking therapies services - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
  • Should you feel unsafe, unable to cope or are thinking about harming yourself or another person please call 111 and select option 2 or call the Samaritans on 116 123 or text SHOUT to 85258 if you are looking to speak with someone supportive in this moment.

Call us to confidentially talk through any problems you’re facing, whatever they may be, on 0344 257 3960. Alternatively, you can email us at hereforyou@nhs.net. This email address is monitored from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
