Summary
The Wheelchair Service provides the framework to clinically assess, and then provide appropriate wheelchairs with associated equipment to clients with long-term mobility needs. Once provision is established, the Wheelchair Service supports the equipment provided and continues to review the clients’ needs.
Service Information
Equipment provided includes; manual wheelchairs, indoor powered wheelchairs, indoor/outdoor wheelchairs, buggies and pressure care cushions for wheelchairs.
Clients are offered a choice of Personal Wheelchair Budget as part of the intervention process.
Clients with more complex needs may be referred to special seating, or have specialist seating company assessing/supplying equipment.

Referral Information
Please ask for a referral from one of the following:
- GPs
- Health Care Professional
- Therapist
If a client already has a wheelchair on loan from the service then they can re-refer for review of provision.
